WTD: 1" headset crown seating shim thing...you know!

All Im after is one of those little alloy washer shims that you put on a new pair of forks before you hammer the crownrace over it. The crown race fits over it and holds it firm.

Anyone know what Im on about?

I need a 1" one.

I think they are specific to the headset you are using .

Jez, I've only seen them on Pace forks as they didn't sewage the steerer tube to go in the crown. If you get one will the TRIMBLE be at Bedgebury

yup, only ever seen them on pace forks, normally the crown race is a tight fit onto the steerer without the need for a shim.

Jez,

Buy a six pack

Drink

Cut tiny shims out of can with wifes good scissors

Wrap steerer and press on race

Gently file off excess above race

Badage fingers from sharp metal edge cuts

The first method is fun...

the best option is to silver solder the race in place if you are planning on using the fork long haul.
