Favorite Song Lyric?

She had the face of an angel smiling with sin,
the body of Venus with arms.

I love that lyric.

I'll also nominate the entire Rain Dogs album by Tom Waits.

"I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings.
I have no rival, no man can be my equal."

Only Freddie can get away with that.

"I love my computer
You're always in the mood
I get so turned on
When I turn on you
I love my computer
You never ask for more
You can be a princess
Or you can be my whore"

Bad Religion - I love my computer

Cold flesh the colour of potatoes
In an instamatic living room of sin

All the required apparatus
Too bad they couldn't fit her head in

Readers' wives - JCC - a classic

Loads of lyrics sound so good in a song, but when you read them out of context they lose something. As a Thrash Metal fan since my early teens songs by Neil Young, Dylan, Springsteen etc were a revelation to me in my early thirties. Try this one from one of my personal faves - see if anyone recognises it without the power of google -

Well you know I have a love / a love for everyone I know
and you know I have a drive / to live I won't let go
but you can see its opposition / comes a-rising up sometimes
that its dreadful and position / comes blacking in my mind
