Debating a new frame...

Something for xc/commuting = not a full suss, unless it's less than 130mm travel, you're just lugging too much bike about

What's your budget?

Personally I'd look for a 120/130mm hardtail, it will commute OK and will be a blast on the trails

Are you looking for new or 2nd hand?

Preloved will be a must with my current budget. Ideally I'd like something I can swap the parts from my MsIsle on to saving extra outlay and meaning I will hopefully get a better frame.

So something with stock 1-1/8 headtube, 34.9 seat tube (for front mech), accepts external bb, disc mounts. Pretty open list really.

Would be nice but will have to see what I can sort out for the finances!

Still open to any suggestions you guys have!

I'm just a touch over 6' 1" and always ride a 17.5" to 18" frame, so I would say anything over 17.5" would fit. That said, with me, it's all about the top tube / reach, rather than the seat tube length.

I can't advise on suitable frames, as all but one of my bikes are pre-95, with the exception of a newly acquired 2002 Yates 853.

That said, if you like Orange, stick with them, as the modern rigid frames have a real retro look to them.
