GT Lobo 1000

Hi Magsy, cheers for the response.

Believe it or not, I actually had a quote from TF last week for £85 to service a coupe deluxe pull shock. Apparently they have a guy who specialises in them but only works a couple of days a week. Crazy to think you could buy them for £25 brand new at one point!

Would you be interested in buying either of the 2 spares I have?

Hmm, interesting! This is what they told me :

Hi Ian,

I`m afraid we cannot do anything with your cool oldschool shock.

Tam

Good news if they have a guy in now, I'll send one over..one thing probably stands though and that is a lack of spare major parts for it, certainly shafts/nuts etc

I have 3 coupes of which 1 is new and a new pro deluxe (the bikes not yet built) so I probably don't need another :p

I still think you should keep one, if you bend it or something you will be gutted :D

As you can see I've been sitting on mine for a year and I look on eBay etc almost every single day inc Europe and USA. Apart from a German guy at 250 euro? I've not seen a new shock and I think only 2 used ones.
I remember not buying a new one back in 05 or 06 for £20, I let the NOS LTS shocks go too, I'm bloody mad with myself.

Hey, you can't win them all!!

I actually build more modern bikes as a small business as well as working full time. I didn't realise how addictive this retro speccing bikes could be though.

I don't suppose you have a device/chainset/chainring combo for the Lobo knocking around do you?

I've got a 97 STS frame too which is next on the list to build up!

I'll take your advise on the shock and keep the better of the 2 :O))

Cheers

Full m950 xtr groupset, hope brakes + hubs, boxxers.....just need to change that hidious seat and ultra long stem and they've got a good buy!
