80's - 90's quality 700c x 20mm tyres enquiry.

Hi guys,

I want to change my 23mm tyres to 20mm on my Pavone as i like the look of narrow tyres and i was wondering if these
Wolber tyres would be good for say 100 miles a week or they too light-weight and could be prone to puntures being light-weight.

Just purchased a NOS set of Vittoria 20mm tyres and looked superb, trouble with those they were rotten so i've sent them back
so if anyone sees them on ebay again don't buy them because the steel beading is all loose and the lower canvas comes off

I know there is many new retro tyres on the market with tan-wall sides with semi-slick tread but i love tyres which
have file and herringbone tread patterns, so this is my route in wanting a good looking tyre.

Anyway want you think of those Wolber tyres or has anyone got a nice un-fitted pair of high quality tan/gum wall racing tyres you no-longer want.

Frankly I wouldn't bother with 20c tyres in the UK. Our road surface is rougher than the continent with larger stone chips in it (to give better wet grip). As a result they are very harsh to ride and actually slower than 23c.

On the smooth tarmac of Italy or Spain they make perfect sense.

I've got Michelin Classic 20mm tan wall tyres on my Raleigh at the moment and the ride is the same as a 23mm tyre.

I previously had some Continental 20mm tyres on my Raleigh and the ride was bloody awful so they had to go.

There isn't many gritted roads where i live so i will survive
