98 Manitou X-Vert R servicing/spares

Hello All

I have a beloved set of 98 X-Vert R forks (on a shockingly yellow Klein Mantra Comp) that now have a bit of a wobble that I assume is the bushes giving out. Does anyone have any pointers as to where I could get these either serviced (ideally) or source the bits to have a go myself (recipe for disaster)?

I have spoke to TF Tuned and they don't think I will get any joy, but thought I might throw the question out here.

They should be very simple to strip down yourself and service. Spare parts shouldn't be an issue either. Try and Google an exploded diagram and then give it a go

Cheers for the encouragement. I have got the original manual so have the exploded view, problem I have is that I have been trawling t'interweb for about 2 months and still haven't found anywhere to get spares for a Manitou this old. Also I have read that to swap out the bushes you need some bespoke gadget. Any ideas where on the web I might find any bits?[/code][/list]

have a look at my thread (http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=134585&view=next) i'm about to attempt the removal and replacement of bushes in mine. need to get the size, but once out i can do this. CRC still stock some bushes that may be compatible.....
