Campag downtube shifters, 7 or 8 speed

I have campag downtube shifters, as i'm not as campag guru, what model/yr is it, and what speed is it? it's currently for a 7 speed cluster, but some parts are a miss-match. It appears to index 8, not sure if the 8 click (high gear, lever up) is an index?

Syncro 2. See

I would guess at 7 speed, but the way to find out for sure is to screw off the cover on the RH lever and count the number of notches on the index ring inside.

Can't tell for sure from the angles in the pictures, but these look like the first version before they increased the diameter of the cable pull on the RH lever to accommodate 8 speed shifting.

Spacing on 7 and 8 freewheels/cassettes was the same; I am currently using 8 speed levers with a Regina America 7 speed freewheel on one of my bikes.

The right one is deffinately larger, so i take it they are syncro 11, 7 or 8 speed, (i'll pull apart later to double confirm) thanks
