To be expected I guess, weren't the Falcons intended to be replicas of Merckx's Molteni bikes of the time.

My understanding is the orange moltenis were colnago built. Either way I'm pretty sure a Columbus SL frame would post date De Rosa's involvement with Merckx.
 
A quick google would reveal the frame is almost certainly this one > http://www.raydobbins.com/molteni_repli ... eplica.htm . That'll be a merckx built 89 corsa in molteni colours.

Have to admit the Falcon frame copies were a bit trashy and didn't sell well (not at our shop anyway)......
