Is anyone interested in a sony str db925 AV amp? I have one that I no longer need, and could do with raising some funds. Its got the remote and manual for the amp. £25 but collection only from Gosport or Fareham area of Hampshire. Please pm if interested.

A properly designed one should match headphones better and therefore should sound better than using the one on your power amp, but several amps have decent separate 'phone amps built in.
It does open up the possibility of using a small, low powered Class A amp though, as efficiency and heat generation isn't such an issue for a low powered amp.

It was a Linn LK 280 power amp, Meridian 201 CD/ pre with a matching FM tuner.
The Spendors were the BBC active version with built in 100w amplification. They needed new cabinets but were very nice when finished.
