Living with my 6 speed

Just had a great first ride on my winterized? Italian race bike. Smooth quiet and comfortable, with one exception - the hoods sooooo small. I will change those to latter aero levers.
I intend to ride this all through the worst weather, so bits will wear.
My concern is that I want to keep it as it is I don't want to spread the rear. So what are my options when the hard to get 6 speed uniglide finally goes? Can I get a 126/127 rear hub that'll take more readily available spares?

It was nice to ride 52/42 again.
If all goes well I'll get it resprayed and possibly some nice new Cinelli bars and stem.

You can swap the free hub body to an HG one (7 speed) and then use either the spacers from your 6 speed or simply move to 7.

New threaded 126mm hubs are avaiabl;e through JD whiskers. I forget which ones, then you can use a freewheel.

Isee nothing wrong with a freewheel, even a cheap one for winter/poor weather bike.
