Frame & fork ready!
Not overly happy with the blue stripe to rear of the downtube decal:
Camera angle makes wrap-around at rear of seat tube look a bit off, it's barely noticeable really!
Thanks to Gil M for the French 531 decal, not the commonest placement but faithful to the original layout on the frame:
I like these seatstay decals more than the original gold panels, even if once again they've not been printed perfectly:
No chrome on the forks anymore, but I think the decals link them nicely and make the whole frameset look less 'fussy':

The dropouts (shown with a little bit of grease on them from the inserts) are not drilled for axle adjusters... and like most Simplex units have an unthreaded mech hanger, which can be modified for use with mechs other than Simplex. Mick had a Super Record front mech but never got round to upgrading the rear to suit, no doubt due to this hanger:
The BB threads are cleaner than they look, but I'll be cleaning them up a little more before refitting the cups:

Very tasty, its the best part when all the hard work pays off and the build starts to take shape coming together.

goes really well with tea, biscuits and chilled out (instrumental) tunes!I'm fretting more about which ferrules to use for the downtube cable guides and which brake cable clips for the top tube than how the wheels are going to hold up, but that's OCD for you!
Since I took the last pics of the 'finished' frame I've decided to change the lower headset bearings (before I fit the Weinmann centrepull hanger under the top nut) as they're not as smooth as I'd hoped.
Can't wait (but must) to get out for a test ride on this bike!
