Im looking to buy one as its got a really low stack height [21mm]
the reviews arent great for their headsets but im only really wanting it for its stack height but stil would prefer to get the best rated whilst theyre priced down at CRC

Does anybody have any experience[either good or bad] about these and can help me pick the most suitable.

Looking towards this one

Seems they have a rust problem and fitting is tricky.Might as well consider something supposedly stronger and with more stainless on it :?

The 31 quid is helping me decide

I've not used them, but like you I was tempted by the price from CRC.

In the end I gave them a wide berth because I could not find anyone who had anything good to say about them. I know there are a lot of keyboard warriors on forums etcs, but some of the pics of exploded cups and stuff put me off.

.

+1 for concerned about exploding cups :?
So i bought the DH one with Stainless steel cups. :D
I've not fitted it yet as the frame it is destined for needs a repair.
Looks nicely made, i wouldn't think the seals are up to much though.
I think its one of those parts that will need regular greasing rather than fit and forget ;)

I bought one of their Sage Headsets and then read the various reviews about the problems with it including this one:

I concluded that nothing is perfect and I needed the short stack height plus the warranty is good and the price excellent so why not.

I also bought a Spank Spike Stem because it also has a very low stack height - worth considering.

Bump
Opted for this one :D http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... c95fffd33d

Im not really bothered about if its sealed or rust proof as its how you look after them that makes the real difference.Possibly the bad reviews are from the non servicing type that are unlikely to give it a wipe down at the end of the day and strip it to regrease the bearings after a rain soaked day out.
Ive seen many a quality bike brought in for servicing where it is obvious that the owner knows nothing about looking after his steed, the type that thinks leaving the mud on it make him look like the real deal

21.5mm stack height :D a good 1/2 inch less than most.
