Problems with new wheel and disc alignment - help!

LBS doesn't have a disc mount facing tool, d'oh.

I need caliper to go further left on the picture, but i've no adjustment left.

Must be a slightly different position of mount of frame and wheel slightly different. Both in the wrong way to help me.

Space wheel out with some washers?
Or file down mount?

looking at the pic i would say the bracket that the caliper is on needs to be thinner. So if it were in my hands as an ex mechanic i would not face the frame disc mount or file the holes in the caliper.....but i would make that bracket between the 2 thinner....it's too fat by the looks of it.

My thoughts too. It's hard work filing it but getting there. Got another 0.5mm or so to go.

told you they were centre lock - pity you did not confirm

I so happen to have an XT disc that was machined so I had the opposite problem - had to make a shim from 0.5 mm aluminium sheet - we could have swapped discs.

Mine are only cheapy Deore level discs, but yup they're centrelock.

I had this problem last year on an old Stumpy , got a different adapter and all was fine.

Will have to see if a genuine Shimano adapter is any thinner. Refitted Deore wheel and could get it aligned ok, better than with XT wheel. What a pain!
