Surly Moonlander

thanks, been enjoying the bike along with beers and food and a generally nice relaxing weekend off work for a change.

managed to drag my drinking partner out for a ride in the rain today!

usual 15 mile loop along the quayside in showers, then a diversion back to the hoppings fair, that is now a complete mudbath....sadly the security stopped me riding the moonlander around, so i stopped for a sausage and fresh donuts!

That's a stunner, would be so tempted to build a fat bike.

But with the price of a single tyre I would be afraid to ride it on anything but the softest ground!

 dont let that put you off.....once you buy one they last.

oh and there are some bargains out there, a pal paid £550 for a brand new pugsley recently!

What a mess the flash floods caused yesterday....local area is flooded here, I guess others have suffered too.....few pics while I had a spare hour before getting called into work...

Local park....no rivers here, there's a path under that!

Very damaging but most of its gone now.....first time I have ever seen some of these parts flood...

well, after yesterdays flood adventures i decided to spend a little time today going to parts of my local area to see what damage was done.

debris was everywhere, abandoned cars, mudslides and things like that, no water about though...

some tarmac paths were unridable, check this out, usually its a dusty track, the moonlander would cruise along, but today i almost ended on my ass!

wasnt expecting that amount of mud, but couldnt really turn back without ruining the ride.

riding the moonlander as much as i can this week, another ride today, this time a 30 mile trip up the north east coast.

windy, sunny, showers but good temps and great scenery.

nice to be on a beach again.

started from home, rather than drive up, right along the local cycle route from wallsend up to north shields fish quay, then up to tynemouth, onto the beach at whitley bay to st marys lighthouse, then a little trip up blyth beach before travelling back down towards home.

a grand day out, pics as always...
