S-WORKS YEAR?

Did a google image search for specialized s works m5, you have also got the one that was listed on ebay that bigmick pointed out on singletrack, reading his feedback the buyer seemed happy with it. As others have said before i'd contact specialized and see what they think. With their track record of suing people i'm sure they would be helpful.
 
Specialized have changed their web site and I'm struggling to find the archive section.

Drop-outs are looking the killer I'm afraid:

Dropouts seem consistent right through to the modern models. It's pretty similar though, no idea what else it could be. Decals don't look right apart from the downtube M5 metal one in Black, the font's just not quite there to me. Rockhoppers pretty much the same dropout too.

Sure you'll be able to tell as soon as you see it in the metal. Got my fingers crossed for you, but wouldn't hold my breath unfortunately.
 
The seller says he has no reason to believe its a fake as he bought it in good faith off a friend he say's he will refund. I hope it is but still don't know whether I'll be able to tell even in the metal.
 
If the decals aren't laquered over that would be a giveaway. Although looks like nice paintwork so may have been done too. Bit of work though if it was a copy. As I've said, fingers crossed for you.
 
Frame arrived just now in bubble wrap wasn't even in a box! Have only peeled back the the downtube to check the decals and they're not even decals they are painted on probably stenciled on! not even worth unwrapping any further. :(
 
Sorry to hear that. Raise an eBay case now so it's done and official and then just wait for the funds to be returned.

Seemed expensive anyway if I'm honest. I bought mine off here for £165 with disc and canti mounts.
 
Yeah mate I'm gutted £270 including wouldn't of been a bad price considering its never been used and if it was genuine! He intially wanted £375 and £25 p+p!
 
He has agreed to refund once I return so shouldn't be an issue more inconveinence more than anything! oh well my search for a genuine s-works continues.....
