So who was this carrying their bike at the start even before things got muddy?

Guilty as charged - it was easier to carry than push, and we weren't allowed to ride until we reached the startline. :?
At least I started off with light weight bike. :D

Not long been in, will sort pictures and stuff later, but what a weekend!

Not so light now...

Was a good weekend. Great to go out for a lap, better to have done it though!

Cheers to JV as always. Beer on tap was great! Location spot on.
And never been so glad to have a 4x4!! :D :D

Was a touch muddy in places

If I had known that it was going to be that muddy I would have:

*popped on a tweed jacket
*slipped into my patent leather riding boots
*donned my finest deerstalker
*and popped down on my Cleland for some good old fashioned pootling in the mud before retiring for tea and tiffin.

(Don't do racing though! Gave that up after a fluffed gear change at the 1984 Wendover Bash).

The thing to remember about riding through mud is to always remember to look smart and dignified. Sartorial elagance is de rigueur.

The RetroBiker in the suit has the right idea! However a trilby should always be the headgear of choice for use whilst wearing a suit in the Welsh Borders.
And on a health and safety and deportment note: Bicycle clips of only the finest Sheffield spring steel should always be demurely attached before mounting ones steed.

Maybe I should re-appraise my riding SS if that happens when you change gear....

That looked fun, shame about the mud. Better be nice for next year!

That would be a first. Hasn't it always been muddy?
