Dawes Debonair

Love it.

If it were my frame I would leave the 'patina' as It's just spot on.

You could always give it to me and I'll take good care of it for you?

They're both nice. But neither are special, or worth any money.

I'd leave the Dawes. Just ride it until it breaks.

The Dawes frame is nice and worth building up, but the Triumph is the more interesting machine. Everyone hung into the higher end frames, but normal workaday bikes just got abused so they can actually be the harder machine to find.

How much did the Trumpet cost?

I'm surprised to be honest, as thought a 50's 531 frame would have been sought after. I have a load of Campagnolo parts I've been waiting to put on the right frame, so might use this frame for that. I think it originally would have had chrome forks. Will try and find a cheap set, and build it up.

It would have to be in really good condition to be worth much. And it's in pretty poor condition. I have to say, if it's that rusty on the outside chances are it will fail eventually as the inside has been rusting as well.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice. But it isn't worth a lot of money. :(

Enjoy it while it lasts. A new chromed fork can be had from www.freemanscycles.co.uk for not too much.

I'm with my friend, btw, in that I think that Triumph is better.
