lovely :) prefer the green marz though :)

whats the i2i on that shock? i'm starting to think that the fox float i got on mine doesn't provide enough travel and the Rock Shox Deluxe i have is beginning to fail (still got my squeaky issue)

finding a 165 i2i coil shock with rebound adjust isn't as easy as i thought.....

X-fusion GLYDE do one, but i cant find anymore on eBay :(

just thogh id update the team DH build, almost there now! managed to find some Manitou Xvert Carbon forks, just looking for some mavic deemax wheels, prob gona take a while tho!! great to ride, even gona race it next weekend in stockport !!

Well, here's my '97 Ground Control FSR Comp (though I'm not sure if this thread is for pre-2000 or a post-'98 bikes?)

I've had it from new, first reading about it in MountainBike Action magazine (they'd made it their 'Bike of the Year '97') and then bought it from Leisure Lakes in Daventry after seeing one on their stand at Bike '97.

I've upgraded bits and pieces of it over the years, though I still have the original seat stays, front fork and rear shock, though everything else I took off it went onto another frame which I later sold on to a mate (1994 Specialized S-works Stumpjumper FSR)

As it is today

More pictures of it are on Flickr here: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjuv3JW8
while it's spec list is here: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=150822

Heya Bartsimpsonhead; is this really a 97'? I've got this FSR DH here with the exact same frame and the first 2 numbers on ther serial number are 99. I thought that was what told me what year the frame is.

I'm looking for a rear shock linkage for my 99 FSR to increase travel. I'm not sure what kinds are out there so i'm open to whatever you've got. I'm not sure how much travel I've got already; I'm thinkin' it's pretty stock. There's no name on this gold linkage. Any ideas?

Isn't this already a tuning linkage, is it? Maybe you could go for a longer damper instead?

edit: duck, is the golden one below (last image) yours? looks quite similar to me?

And as i'm a lunatic, a list of the FSR of 98 and 99 I could find. Please feel free to correct and add!

i don't like the catalogue setups from 1998. Too plump, heavy and cheap. And I've NEVER seen a Pro before. Neither live nor pictures.

Well looks like that gold linkage is the same as mine and it appears to be one of the larger ones too! I'm very excited about this bike and have been having a blast finding new DH courses to test it on. Looks like I'll be at North Star ski resort this weekend. I'll post a link to the video I'm sure to make.
Thanks for all of the pix Grugru!

Went to North Star yesterday. Thier DH courses are insane!! It was my first time hiting 10 foot table tops; but by the end of the day I was clearing them like a pro.
Too bad I cracked my 98' Boxxer Pros. I was still riding it but oil was leaking out from under the sticker.
I'll hopefully replace the Boxxers soon and head back to North Star.
No joke; I've never had so much fun! Ever.
