Hard Hitting Hard Tails

I have been collecting parts for a FSR build that I am loosing interest in.

I want to try a hard hitting hard tail with a 19" Frame but can't find anything on my shortlist: Chute, Roast, Chameleon, Stiffee, Rumble, Ridge, Moho.

My preference seems to be Aluminium but this is not cast in stone rather a perception of desired ridgidity. My intended use is a mixture of xc, trails and downhill. Being no featherweight, I want a frame up to the task

Before I throw in the towel is there anything else I should consider?

Dialled Alpine and Prince Albert, Chumba HX-1, DMR's, Azonic's, Evil Sovereign, Transition Trans AM, Ragley Troof, I'm sure I'll think of some more.

.

I'm smitten with my Norco Torrent, 150-12 rear though.

Mine is a 2004, they are super strong, a reasonable weight and can be had really cheaply

I'd definitely consider a Chameleon....I've had three, my last one was a large with 140mm Van R's, Hone cranks, Saint brakes etc and it took everything I threw at it....cross country loops, all days rides in the peaks, mucking about on jumps and DH runs in my local woods etc.

It was pretty light and plenty stiff enough (could be a bit wearing on a really long ride).

The NS Surge has had good reviews as well if you fancy steel.
