1997 Giant MCM team carbon hardtail frame, 20” VERY yellow! It just about fitted me & I’m 5’10” though it really suits a bigger chap. The frame is pretty tired, the paint worn through in a couple of places due to cable rub and the paint is cracked at a couple of tube joints. The previous owner said they’d been there for years and he’d had it since the late 90s. £35 SOLD

Headtube is 135mm
Seat tube 19.5" c-c
Top tube 23" c-c
Seatpost is 27.2mm (31.8mm seat collar)
BB 68mm
Headset 1 1/8
I used a standard 34.9mm top-pull front mech though it was originally fitted with a bracket and road-type mech.
Fork length required ~440mm a/c

The only swaps I’m after is a good front v-brake front wheel, with silver rim. I’d really like Mavic XC717. Oh and a pair of square taper cranks.

intersted in the giant, is it 1 1/8?, whats the seatpost size and how long is the headtube?

cheers

chris

It is indeed 1 1/8. Seatpost is 27.2mm (31.8mm seat collar), BB 68mm, I used a standard 34.9mm top-pull front mech though it was originally fitted with a bracket and road-type mech. The headtube is quite long, I'll check later, but the steerer on the Foxs I used (travel reduced to 75mm give 440mm a/c) is 205mm and that allowed a 5mm spacer under the stem.

More pics here: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... highlight= The set-up here is 75cm from the BB axle to the top of the saddle and a 110mm stem.

I really liked riding it but I have too many steeds in the stable and not enough room.

Cheers dude, gonna gracefully bow out, head tubes a tad too small, passing the batton on :D
