That is odd!

Although a well sorted 914/6 in orange in my garage would be nice.

True but my favourite Ferrari is the Dino which wasn't even a real Ferrari. Maybe I'm a sucker for small cars with charismatic 6 cylinder engines.

The sound of an air cooled motor is music to me.

This is my Notch with a pair of rebuilt Del's being put through It's paces by the legend Andy Ham.

Ignore the title.

Not technical, but Enzo Ferrari didn't consider a 6 cylinder car that size to be worthy of the full Ferrari name so he named it after his son who had died. The badge was Dino instead of Ferrari. Dino was going to be a new brand for more "affordable" cars

...and Enzo wanted to distance the V6 and subsequent V8 from the Ferrari name in case they flopped, thus protecting their reputation as purveyors of exotic 12 pot cars. In the end they turned out to be good sellers and the Dino brand was scrapped in the mid 70's and the then 308 GT4 reverted to Ferrari badging.
