Like what you have done there Ian. Be interesting to see how you compare it too the RC200

cheers ;) can't wait until I get some time to take it out for proper blast

Managed to get out this afternoon for the first time proper on the 300 and I love it! :D

I know I have used a lot of newer, lighter parts to build it than my 200 and when I compared them by lifting one then the other the 300 did feel lighter but not massively, but, wow, during the ride the 300 felt like it could take off, which was a bit un-nerving at times as the back end felt quite twitchy compared to the 200. Need to get it on some scales to see how much lighter it is.
It feels quite a bit longer than the 200 too, the top tube is 5mm longer on the 300, but I have a slight rise on the stem on the 200 and a 0 degree rise stem on the 300 so maybe its that.
I really like the rapid rise rear mech too, never used one before and after about 10 minutes of changing up when I wanted to change down it finally clicked and its so silky smooth.

All in all I'm chuffed with it, so glad I managed to get one in the end, it definitely feels quicker than the 200 but that might also be down to the better drivetrain fitted to it.
Here's a few pics of its first 18 miles

I met Mint out on the ride too and gave him a quick go on it for old times sake, he couldn't take his eyes off it afterwards!!!

So now I am jealous of where you live as well as you having your bike built!

 yeah, I'm pretty lucky to have a playground like the Gower on my doorstep, its not so nice when its chucking it down though......like it has been all weekend, and for the rest of the week, according to the forecast, booooo!

You rode your new 300 much? do u find the back end light too? i like it though ;)

I got two very short rides out of mine, before it got dismantled ready for the final build.

First ride was a bit weird as got saddle height etc wrong and the last bike I rode was a modern(ish) full sus, so it was a bit weird. Second ride was amazing once I sorted out seat height/position.

Can't wait to get it fully built now, won't be for a week or two as going on holiday next week.

Very happy with mine though!

A few more outings done on the 300 over the past few weeks but the last ride has done something to my back. Woke up the morning after with a pain in my right side lower back and over the past few days it has got worse and moved up my back along the spine and into my left shoulder blade, god knows what I've done but I hope it gets better soon, although I now have a new best friend, Boots 400mg Ibruprofen, honkey & cheap as chips ;)

Did a route that I've been meaning to ride for a long time, last rode many moons ago, prob before I started shaving!
After doing this route was chuffed to find part of it the featured route in MBUK this month
