Anyone want to swap Dura Ace 7400?

Hi All,

Big thank you to everyone posting information. It was indeed an 8 speed uniglide cassette. I know some of you will be saying "I told you so" , but there were so many opinions, I didnt know which ones were right! :)

(Also, big thanks to the nice young man at Halfords who let me use their chain whip tools for nothing)

If anyone is interested, heres the pictures of the disassembled cassette: https://plus.google.com/photos/100036427370762655243/albums/5751020505943983329

So, the question is now, what sprockets do I put on??
Currently have 13,14,15,16,17,18,19,23

My two options are:
13,14,15,17,19,21,23,25 - so i would need 23 & 25
13,14,16,19,21,23,25,28 - so I would need 23,25 & 28

Would love to get a 28T on there although not sure if the mech will take it.

If anyone has these sprockets that they'd like to sell - preferably uniglide, please PM me.

Thanks everyone.
Rob

I would only take it up to 25 - the jump from 16 to 19 is too large, and I think you might have real problems with the 28...

I'm pretty certain I have a 7 speed 23T uniglide sprocket, if that can be of use. A 25 might be harder to find, but I think a hyperglide sprocket will work and they're much easier to find (it might even be worth buying a used cassette to get one, as even on a well used cassette usually the very largest and very smallest sprockets are in decent shape, it's the centre ones that wear out first)

let me know if you can use the 23t

Andy

Thanks Andy. I wasn't sure what the jumps should be. I figured a jump of 2 would be OK although perhaps only when it gets to the bigger sprockets.

Thanks for the offer of the 23T. I'm checking out ebay to see what I can get - if i have to buy a whole new cassette with all the sprockets I need, then i'll be sorted. But if i get stuck, i'll PM you. Cheers

Thanks.
Rob
