Orange Sub3 - Build Thread - now with pic

Thanks guys :)
Old?? - it's my most modern Orange!

I need to upload the pics of it with the RC39 on it.

I am thinking about replacing the DuraAce rear mech with a XTR M950 one - the DuraAce is a bit bling on an otherwise stealthy build.

And getting the Tune cranks anodised... to match the XTR M950 grey

Anyone want to swap a DA 7700 mech for a M950/1/2 mech?

Well, there were a few changes before the Manx End2End race.
Suffice to say, the Sub3 was a dream on the Isle of Man!
Climbed wonderfully - handled everything easily.

The RC-39 seemed a little fragile - so were swapped for the RC-36 ProClass2 I ran last year.

Fork: Pace RC36 ProClass2 (100mm)
Handlebar: Syntace Carbon
Shifters: M952 9spd - M952 3spd
Front Derailleur: M952
Rear Derailleur: M952

A couple of changes are planned for next years race.... :)

Just been to the garage and fettled....
The Pace RC36 have gone - replaced with Magura Durin 100SL. Lighter, stiffer and blacker!
And they are post-mount so I have lost the adapter that I had to use on the Pace.
Pedals have been changed to Cranks Bros 4Ti - at 182 grames.
Well - I say 4Ti - but.... they are 2Ti - so Ti body and wings and steel axles.
But Ward Industries do luvverly Ti axles - for about £35 - which are lighter and stronger than CrankBros own.
So 100g lighter than the previous Eggbeaters I had on there :)

One change to come... I got some Tune chainrings as a birthday present - how did my parents know I wanted them?? 44T & 32T to be fitted soon.

So I have now saved just a smidge under 2.2kg or just under 5lb on parts from what was fitted to the MrXC :)

Looks great in mat Black, really like it. Look forward to latest pics with new fork.

Thanks
Need to get home in daylight - and then new pics will be taken.

I am also considering getting the cranks ano'd XTR grey - they look a bit too bling for the build. And possibly black Hope brakes? :)

The new Tune chainrings are both black too.

Finally got some pics of the final (ish) build.....

After an afternoon at Brechfa...
