It's basically stock for the tyres.

Frame: Zaskar, late '91 production (08910802), 18", 6061T6 Al. Came with '92 decals.

Very Nice. You don't need to do much to that bike. It really comes downto your budget and inclination.
 
I agree,bit of a clean n polish lower the stem and that's it!
Looks in good condition theres still another 20 odd yrs in the old girl yet!

Only thing I'd change, personaly, is the tyres. A nice set of smoke/dart or Ritchey Zmax Amberwalls.

Other than that it's perfectly well balanced as it is.
 
Agree on the tyres, for some reason I saw those and thought surly pugsley :?
 
That stem's the original GT tho isn't it?

maybe hunt out some threaded sus forks, like RockShox MAG21's (and keep the stem) to soften the blows of the rigid front end a bit?
 
No point in lowering the stem apart from for looks. At the end of the day comfy and ridable are better than pretty.

Yeah. been looking at forks on ebay. Still getting a feel for it.

Did they come with a lockout?
