Early 80's Raleigh Competition

Lovely bike Wilfried, I think you've chosen the perfect upgrades. :)
Nice to see the Grand Bois tyres with latex tubes, a very classy touch.

Thanks to wikipedia, I've just learned more about my Raleigh :

The serial number is WB 200 0577

It must be the 577rd frame built at Worksop (Nottinghamshire) in February 1982

A recent picture, just for the eyes ;)

It is a lovely bicycle Wilfried but it almost certainly not built in Worksop - only if the frame is pre-1981.

Raleigh's Worksop factory was closed in 1981 and Raleigh continued to use the"W"prefix for certain frames built in Nottingham.

This should be common knowledge now (on this forum) but appears that this is not the case.

Please do not take everything you read on"Wiki"as correct.

Nicely posed image, bet you didn't ride it there!

Roadking.

Amazing build and renovation man, well done indeed. I think everything just looks 'right' to the eye, and with a lovely attention to detail.

Well done again.
