Retrobike National Series Rd 3: Surrey Hills ~ Aftermath

What an awesome ride

Really nice to catch up with you all, and make new friends too.

Thanks to Godders and rc200ti for the lifts, much appreciated.

Highlight of the day for me was managing to get down the first downhill (complete with berms) before realising my steerer was swiveling round in my fork crown. I had put my lack of control down to ther narrow bars  Lesson learned.

And thanks to BobCatMax, Woodsman< and TGR. Good work fellas.

I had a HUGE crash at the end which no-one saw
The irony is that at the top of the descent where you may or may not have fallen off your brother was waxing lyrical about how splendid and rapid a descender you were and about how you knew your bike better than the back of your hand...

It wasn't quite as arse lickingly creepy as that but I did mention something IIRC. :)

Didn't capture Rob's ground hugging cartwheel of death but I did get a few other shots.

Great day out. Good to see a few old friends and get some rays.

Shame the TDiscs don't come in 29er size

Wonder how far off a 700c sugino tension disc would be. With the right hub / rim combo it might work :)

Some cool pics chaps. Keep 'em coming.

Also meant to mention the mower racers, apparently we had two national level racers out on the ride. In honour I gave the old mountfield a trashing round the lawn last night

Looks like a top day out! Some cracking bike on show too

ha,ha I forgot about that ...Very random though quite flattering the thought that we look like national lawnmower champions

Great ride! Thanks to the leaders another great job, and well done for keeping it flowing well.

Weather was fantastic, location perfect (except car park a touch snug..), and people as always friendly, Except Any123 of course.. ;)

Didn't realise some of the people there, would have like to meet Elite if I knew it was him! Nice to see some of the old old school too. Been a while.

Quite amazed a bust chain was the worst mechanical of the day too, good show!

Cheers!
Andy
