On my Dirtworks project the holes for mounting the rear shock to the frame and the linkage are for an M6 bolt.
Virtually everything available shock wise that is half decent uses M8 bolts.
So should i;
A) Sleeve the bushes in the shock to take an M6 bolt instead of an M8?
B) Drill the frame and linkage to suit an M8 bolt?

From an engineering point of view there is enough metal in the right areas to allow for option B.

What do you think folks?

tf tuned sell the sleeves mike ;) or you could use a shock bolt from a bso and cut the head off one side , shorten it to the right length and re-tap the threads on that side ;)

Just been through this with my 98 FSR

New shock has 8mm hole, frame takes 6mm bolt

8mm OD steel pipe from B&Q with a 1mm wall thickness, job done.

I was lucky and found a meter of the stuff in a bargin bin as it had a little bit of rust on one end, it meant it only cost me about £1.63 instead of the £2odd

:LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

Shock mounting hardware ("top hat" spacers etc) is frame specific, not shock specific. TF, BETD or someone should be able to furnish you with the right sized bits.
