Anyone recognise this Halfords Sport?

Hello all, I've browsed this forum for a bit now and thought it was a good time for a first post. A couple of years ago I acquired this Halfords Sport, and I'm still trying to find out who built the frame. I'm assuming it wasn't Halfords.
So far Falcon came up as the closest match, but I'm still loking for confirmation. Do any of you recognise this bike?

The seat cluster wrap-over is characteristic Carlton/Raleigh/BSA/Sun. Built in vast quantities in the 70's. Not saying it deffo is one of these but it looks possible.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, I'm pretty sure it's British.
Here are some more pics. Crankset is SR Apex, derailers are Shimano 600/60, brakes are Weinmann. Parts are all date-coded 1976, so the bike was probably built then. Anyone familiar with Halfords' offerings in the 70's?

It certainly looks right for the company logo around the mid 70s

Yes, I remember this house style. It was before the Dutch branch went its own way, after a management buy-out.
