What replacement cones for M510 front hub?

Looking at the Shimano website the correct part number is Y-21L 98020 but I can't find them anywhere. Anyone know where to get some or alternatives? Size if M9 x 11.5mm.

I replaced a cone recently, because one I had had brinelled on one side, the hub was reasonably okay, so new bearings new grease and a cone I found on a solid axle I had recovered from a dumped bike with basic shimano hubs.

That being the cones are not that hard to find, perhaps the LBS?

As to brinelling, sod it on these hubs the wheel still rotates that is good enough and runs reasonably true, but if I were particular, I might have sacrificed some bearings with grinding paste and ground the brinelling out as I rode.

Google Y21L98020 and there are numerous links. Nothing in the Google Shopping link but many of the results generated lead to the item for sale.

do you need one cone or both, as i have one cone that looks very similar to the pictures posted you could have for postage if its any good to you

While it will work, spacers may be needed and not all have the shield plate/dust cover in them.

It may be cheaper in the long run to find a reduced one on CRC/On-One or similar in the bargains pile and match the axle cones up with the models. You'll get bearings as well.

As what fluffy says, the seals/cover will be your problem as they can vary somewhat.
