Cinder Cone memories circa 97

:)

I've currently got a lava dome frame stashed under me desk (kicking it now) that, once repaired, will finally help me get over losing the old 'cone all them moons ago.......

All these stories on here made me order a good quality kryptonite
U lock.. My bikes/s when used for commute/shop run I've always used
Fairly cheap(£20) lock for no more than 5mins.. Never had a bike stolen and
Hopefully never do.. I'm very very careful but if any of my fleet
Even the cheap hack ones got nicked I'd be devastated :(
They all have a story to tell :)

Looking good Donnie !!

seat and bar tape ideas - plus potential offer of a blue or silver proshift rear mech! :D

Let me get this straight. You're going to stick on a brooks saddle and an AMP fork?

Please don't :!:

All that blue, then brown, then sillver. Just keep it simple since that frame colour is soooo nice ;)

Just ideas for the mo but I would happily stick a brown brooks on an amp f1 :D I have a kona frame on the way, raw and good for the painting, so main colour is yet to be decided. TBH I really want to keep the frame raw, either lacquered or chromed if i'm feeling flush. I really think the brown of the brooks will fit the blue nicely... they also do a turquoise leather seat ;)

Main components - silver
Frame - raw
Highlights - blue (bars, skewers, chainring bolts, chain, spider, hubs)

I think it'll work - better to challenge the convention than sook up the norm! ;)

Cheers Col,

The brooks saddle is 500gms so I'm a bit put off, even though I find them really comfy. Sourced a hope bb and hopefully a proshift rear mech, leaving the current collection as:

Very nice sounding build, can't wait to see the finished bike.

You're dead right about the site being addictive (RetroCrack   )

I've started selling my sons old toys (and not so old) to fund my bike habit
