1993 AMP Research B2

Mr. Zero

Senior Retro Guru
I've been after this double down tube B2 for quite a while and when it finally turned up on eBay I was fortunate to grab it for a song. Knowing the "lightbike" potential of the frame I made an effort to use the lightest bits I had on hand, scavenging/swapping some from other bikes in the stable, to build it up. The end result is a 21.9lb Retro FS XC bullet.

Anyway, here's the latest addition to the stable:

Very nice, and very light too

What size frame is that? it looks tiny, even smaller than mine.

I'm hoping to have mine finished soon, does the TWP brace on the back end make much difference?

Thanks for the comps. The frame is an AMP Small or 17" c-t.

In regard to the TWP brace I've not experienced rear end flex on this or my Fat Chance SAB which both sport the same AMP B2 design, rear end and TWP brace. I've not ridden either bike without the brace so really can't quantify the benefit.

Enjoy your 3 rides before the fork self destructs.................. ;)

I'll give it a few rides and give you an update. I know a couple of guys who have been riding XC on this same fork for years without issue.
