The next 'Peoples Grand Tour' starts on 19th may and finishes on 10th june.

As per my previous thread 'Three week stage race for amateurs', This is a self designed Grand Tour that you can attend and do your own biking on and participate with about 100+ people to compete with them or yourself. The idea being mostly, that you put more effort into improving your own biking and spend more days in the saddle than perhaps you normally would.

One way to do this is sign up with www.strava.com and log your rides and join the 'peoplesgrandtour' group and see what others are doing during the event. The Strava site has a lot of features that might appeal to those who need a little impetus in improving their biking (Certainly does for me).

At the end, if you cover more than 10 days on a bike you get a General Classification place - this in the previous event was more weighted on days on the bike than more miles on the bike. Either way, if you have some time free its a nice way to make the use of it on your bike.

Just emigrating south again!

Should we start a "Retrobike Grand Tour" group so we can compete/challenge with each other aswell the other groups? Just thinking out loud at the moment.

One worth running via John but it would be nice if we could get 6-7 riders doing it and perhaps putting in a team presence. :) Good idea.

perhaps Retrobike #PGT as that was the twitter Tag they were using.

Or, #retrobikepgt.

Some options therefore!

Worth posting up in a more general section?

I'll be back on it again, and this time i expect to be beaten

Possibly worth posting up elsewhere on the forum, yes, but you can do it cos you are more famous and an AEC ;) I suppose I posted it in here as I know some of you whilst posting wider forum might be a bit more frowned upon advertising the events of others!

Anyhow, I will be hoping to put in a few more days this time :)

If you are using Strava on Android or iOS then make sure you check for app updates as they are issuing new software quite often.

P.S. 'paininthe' doesn't appear to be posting his results this time - I should imagine its due to his modesty. Or that his screen isn't wide enough to get all the numbers on. :)

(And he hasn't had any 'rest days' so far)
