Ah..and put some viagra on the front quick release..........

Ha ha! Thanks to a couple of blue tablets the skewer is now pointing the right way!

Shouldn't be too long until this is done! Have ridden it but not too far, got the lx brakes on and they are miles better plus the black goes with the frame perfectly! Got some ti bolts coming for the canti's as well.

I like the syncros post but I also liked the Thomson, and I'm an impatient man! ....... Although a couple of days after I'd bought it, a nice syncros turned up on the for sale section!

Will update when the latest bits have come!

Re: Pace RC200 F3 - 1st Ride 2/5/12

took the rc200 for a nice ride out this morning!

havent actually taken it on a proper ride yet

handles superb, very stiff at the back end had a couple of teething issues - derailleur not tightened up enough  and chain snapped  . but as im the one who put it together its definately down to user error ha ha!!

back home - nice and muddy!

had a few issues with the fork being pretty much bottomed most of the way round. definately new elastomer time. has anyone spring converted a pair of these with any success???? :?:

that looks awesome chief. i reckon you have got just the right amount of purple, not too much, not too little. decals look good too, classy.

looks like a nice spot for a pedal too ay. and weather to boot!

Nice bike mister    . I think you've got the right balance between the purple and black now. The only thing I would change is the Thomson post for something in carbon - I had a RC200 with a Thomson post and the ride was brutal. A carbon post makes a big difference on 2+ hour rides.

took the words right out of my mouth :)

looks better with the standard silver decals, very nice. likin the purple drink to match the purple bits too ;)

Cheers fellas!

The ride was brutal, me arse is still sufferin ha ha!!!! Will definately have a look out for a carbon post, anyone know who does one in a 29.4 though ?! This will be next after sorting elastomers for the forks!

I'm really happy with the way it's looking, the decals are top quality from Gil as per usual!

Looking good. careful with stretching the chain with going big to big

Ride

I would go for a comfier saddle and or wider tyres to soften the ride up. I use WTB leather Pure race with Ti rails, which are firm, but very forgiving.
A titanium post would be better than a Carbon one, for taking the sting out of the trail.
A lot of my pals BITDm shimmed their frames with a good Aluminium one- not plastic and used a USE post, as at 25 mm are quite flexy.

Looking great. Keep riding it and you'll get used to the harshness. Don't shim the seat post, or you may end up with a cool looking repair

cheers for the comments chaps! much appreciated as always!!!

have ridden this a fair few times recently, but my back/arse has been in bits after every ride so have been running a USE carbon post which has made a world of difference, taking the edge off massively!
I tend to use this for more sedate rides, i'd use one of my others say to race on or send round lee quarry at high speed.

I've made some aterations to it recently too. these include:

- Deore Thumbies
- X Lite Chicken Stix levers
- Original Hope QR Skewers (ti)
- changed the seat tube decals for smaller ones - i put the the non DS one on the wrong way too ahem!!!

i have had a recent bar end amnesty on my two bikes that have them as i have found them to get in the way a bit and i prefer the extra width of the bar without them now anyway!

hope everyone likes it! will do some better pics when i get a better camera ha ha!!!!
