another bb q

there's been quite a few posts on BB and versious varietires so here is my q.

would i need to replace BB cups if I want to replace shimano XT hollowtech chainset by a Truvativ Nnoir?

(i thing the answer is yes but not toally sure). :cry:

Truvativ use a gxp bb which is different to a shimano one. You can't use a noir crank with any other bb apart from a gxp or a hope bb with gxp adapters.

I need to replace the bottom bracket cups. ... so my question is what BB thread would be found on a 2009 Specialised? I guess English - the other one, Italian would be round mostly on Italian road bikes??? :?

(it has shimano cups fitted - do shimano make external BB for italian trhead, if not, I have my answer

I've had a closer look (it is carbon frame sepcialized) and see no external BB cups; the Spec. blurb describes it as: integrated pipe billet bottom bracket ensure stiffness and efficiency...

That looks like you'll need to replace your currently installed PF30 cups with the SRAM threaded ones - stick with Shimano HT2.
