Just picked my new retro ride up today, took a few pics for you, can anyone guess what it is? I think certain parts will narrow it down to a certain year, plus it's taken me 2 years to find one of these, it was my first mountain bike back in the days when it had just come out, and i have never seen one since.

Whatever it is, seems to be circa 1988/89. Bars and headset look really poor quality, so that would back up the "falcon" idea...though to be fair many others did the same at the time ;-)

Bloody hell you guys are good, Yep it's a 1989 Falcon Bannana, Just got it and taken all the silly reflectors and plastic mudguards off, If i remember rightly it is 100% original, even the seat i think? Just gave it a wash and here is a pic, the bike is in fantastic condition apart from the bars and a tad on the stem, going to get them sorted and the rusty bolts replaced were needed.

Please put me right if i'm wrong, but if i remeber correctly it was a guy called Lambert who was the coach for Raleigh Bannana racing team, then it changed to Falcon Bannana racing team, they did really well in the road racing and these bikes were made as a replica version, His brother Keith Lambert had a bike shop / frame building shop in Bingley West Yorkshire.

I was thinking 2012 Lappier Zesty 916 carbon full xtr ?.

Take it its cro-moly ?, anyone know any more about these. Nothing on google about these uber rare bad boys!

Well all i know is it's 501. They are definatly rare, why is that guys? Are they just so rubbish no one bought them or they just did not make many or they just all rusted away? There ain't any on google images and like i say it's the very 1st one I have ever seen apart from the one I had back in 1990.
I actualy bought it from a guy on here called Spencer from Warickshire, I put an ad up about a year ago and got a PM off him last night, so went straight away and got it. Really pleased.
Brings back soooo many memories of my early biking days. Loved the bike and still do.
