I'm after suggestions for a modern (or modern-ish) steel hardtail do it all frame. Plan to run it with discs, front suspension (probably somewhere between 100-140mm) and perhaps a 1-10 gear set up. I'm not looking for anything overbuilt or completely bombproof but it needs to be able to carry me around (somewhere around 16 stone!) without any fear of failing.

I've been considering a Cotic BFe but would like to hear any suggestions. I don't really want something you see every day so want to steer away from the biggest brands for this build. I'm a fan of Vicious Cycles, Soulfcraft, Dekerf etc just to give an idea of what I'm into!

My budget for the frame is around £400 and I'm certainly happy to consider something second hand if it's a quality frame I really like (and would certainly need to go 2nd hand to get something from one of the brands above!).

Any suggestions gratefully received............

Thanks

On one 456. Can't go wrong at the price used go for. (£100 ish)

I would of bought one but my long travel do it all spec is 130-180

ps: rc104 frames are on clearance at Chain reaction, paid £395 for mine (oh less a further £17 discount because of st. paddys day)

Have one of these saved to my favourites but had forgotten about it. Just within budget at the moment too. Unfortunately won't have the funds for a few weeks yet but definitely a maybe :)

The photo is crap, millions times more adorable looking in the flesh, just escorted the build to the bright lights of the garage, it really is a stunning frame / build (althouth the seat posted needed reaming, must have slipped through QA)

I spent ages looking at dekerf (too expensive), curtis (might as well buy a retro kona steel frame), On One (ok, but too common / stigmatised), and other rare breads, until I opted for the middle ground of the Pace, and the fact it was brand new frame.

You will NOT be dissapointed

Kev
