Well after many months of trying I've finally started the build of my first Ti frame.

Was fortunate to have a bit of cash during last year and being in the need of a larger frame I look the plunge after stumbling across the frame on US eBay.

Now I am aware that there are problems with CK frames but the frame was put together by the highly regarded Ti welder Ivo Vinklarek, this was covered in the following thread; http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... c&start=15

The first thing that needed doing was refinishing the frame as the mirror finish was a little dull, so a few hours with a cloth and a tube of Autosol and the frame is looking real nice and I'm really happy with the result.

So to start the thread off here are some before and after pictures.

I'll update the thread as the build continues.

Thanks for the replies and comments.

I am very pleased with the frame and the quaility of the welding is sublime.

Front end is now on the bike along with the cranks and bb.

Will get some pics uploaded in the morning.

Good job! Looking forward to the build.

Have managed to spend a little more time with the frame and the build gathers pace much to my delight as I've been rideless for a little while now.

Forks, stem, bars and bar components all fitted as well as the crankset, bb and the front and rear mechs. Presently I haven't cut the fork steerer tube to an exact fit as the bike is new to me and this allows for a bit of stem height adjustment hence the stack of spacers.

Will be fitting the brakes and cables and setting up the mechs next.

The build begins;

Locking in for updates :D

Was thinking that M950 would suit my CK better than the M900 on it.

Only thing holding me back is what to do wit the canti bridge :oops:

Look forward to more pics :cool:
