Stupid Aheadset Question - Crown Race

Dumb question even by my standards.

Got a frame which came with a headset which is great, but no crown race which I assume was left on the forks when the bike was stripped.

Can I use any same sized crown on the bike? Seems a shame to buy a new one just for it.

You may have the same race. Not just any will fit though, there are a few which share the same race.

Pictures and more info would be better.

What Mike said. Depends what headset it is, you might be able to buy the right crown race separately.

Thats an aerozine headset?

If the previous headset fitted to the fork had cartridge bearings then your chances are getting better.
How about a picture of the race?

Yeah it is an aerozone.

I dont have a race crown on the forks Im thinking if using.

For the hassle, might just but a m-part cartridge headset for £15 or so as they go forever.

I reckon an fsa split race or something like that should fit. Dont quote me on it but provided the bearings are the same dimensions then the cups wont be hugely different.

Im sure crc used to have them for £4 or so.

Maybe put a wanted up before buying a new race and/or headset?
