Rapid rise

What was the shifter they were connected to or doesnt it matter :?
I know about how it works i just wondered if it would work with any shifter or if the shifters have to be for rapid rise[though i dont think so as i can remember the mech details but not the shifter :?

Works with any shifter as i recall.

The pull/actuation is reversed at the mech.

Odd things when you first come across them.

Exactly, love them myself, only trouble being that once I started I then had to convert all my bikes to RR, including my hybrid road bike, which is now a mix of XTR & Ultegra just to really wind the roadies up

The only difference it'll make at the shifter end is if you've got H&L marks or numbers in the windows they'll be the wrong way round.

I'm a RR fan myself

Any shimano shifter will do. I use an Alivio shifter with the XTR 960 derailleur - smoothest shifting I've ever used.

Hey, they were designed for dual control shifters I think
They will of course work on all above
