got some DX cranks, brakes, derallieurs, syncros polished quill stem, onza bar ends - any other suggestions?

yeah - the photo makes the stem look a LOT better than it is!!!

i'm stripping it and respraying it (the stem that is)

got the following so far

NOS DX brakes
XT Shifters
DX front and rear mechs
DX Chainset
Mavic231 on DX hubs
 
gradeafailure - not really mate - i was just lucky the person who sold it didnt know what the hell it was - they were chcking it out and the tip said it was 10 bucks to go in with it - so i offered her a dollar and she said okay

all of the dx stuff was covered in layers of grease - but no rust anywhere!!

what size seatpost does it take though i cannot work it out!
 
Had one BITD came with full DX and 1st gen XT rapidfire+ shifters (7sp). Paid slightly more for mine £595 I think!!!!!
 
Nice story, and a nice bike - I can't agree about the stem though, no matter if it's in bad condition, that colour is fundamental to the design of the bike and the colour-matched rear end wouldn't look as good without the stem there to balance it.
