It's sad that it's so political, it's purely a business now.

The amount of people telling me this is crazy.

We had a specialist guy at work last year teaching us about some new kit at work, and he had spent done time at the site down there.

He said it was 95% non uk workers, security was a ball ache, and the place was a shambles. He was very passionate about what he heard and was advised by the folk who were there....stay well away, even if you get free tickets, stay at home and watch it as something was going to happen.

Seems quite a few folk who have anything to do with it are saying the same!

Just to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, 1000 AA tickets (they're the good ones) were sent to Gaddafi for him to distribute amongst his staff and diplomats after the revolution had started.

My inner cynic spotted it's "Spectacular" [As the I.R.A army council used to call these things] potential as soon as London was chosen. I always wonder about how things work and how they could be done better and simpler and I reckon the way to do it- if you were so inclined- would be to put a "device" inside one of the concrete pillars while the concrete was being poured in. Something with a timer set for the closing ceremony [Or the opening ceremony if you were a real kill-joy] where the power source was a long life battery, like the battery from a pacemaker. Thus any bomb would have been in place for years and no security sweep would ever find it as it would be part of the fabric. Obvious really!

The biking will be fine, just don't stand next to any concrete pillars.

I cant remember how many times I've heard the "freindly stay away" warning story.

When I worked on London Underground that story circulated every couple of weeks. The night shift have unlimited access and are about 80% foriegn and somehow they manage not to blow it up everynight.
