My current car is used solely used for travelling to work and carrying bikes.

One of my colleagues has a Pug 105 van going cheep, it's diesel and big enough to get a bike in so we've done a deal.

Van insurance seems geared toward professional use rather than the private user, and seems priced accordingly,
so does anyone have any recommendations for an insurance company that favours the private user and would carry over no claims from a car policy
(apparently 'van' no claims is different for car no claims )

I insured my Citroen Dispatch through Direct Insurance, as a van for social and domestic use plus commuting.

i just went on compare the meerkat etc, if memory serves there is a box to tick saying 'van'.

i am currently with www.autonetinsurance.co.uk

i paid £350 fully comp for a 1.9tdi 06 plate vw T5 panel van, social/domestic and commuting.

it is important to specify that it is not being used as a work vehicle, they did try and trip me up a few times by asking about work etc, also they won't want any sign writing on it.

i just explained that i am a bike nut with going on for 20 bikes who goes to events around the country and wanted the security of bikes inside the vehicle and that made a van the right choice.

welcome to van ownership :D
