AFAN Retrobike Ride - 23rd Feb !!

Heathy, could do, will take your advice on this one, not stopped at the new place. Went to the old one few weeks ago and they gave big portions for not too much cash.

Reason for parking at this one is that Whites/Penhydd is a good combo (I think) and you finish by the car, which is nice :)

Andy, parking at the first center is best, its the first 1 you come to. Especially as some have not been here before. The newer center can be a pig to find first time round.
Can you imagine Gus finding it
The portions are huge at the drop-off too, and i can highly recommend the welsh rarebit ;) Infact the grub is worlds apart ;)
If we are doing whites first then its a very short ride to this center, then after lunch a very slow ride/chat back down to the start of penhidd and the cars  By then lunch would have gone down :!:

Andy, just noticed "Whites/Penhydd is a good combo " You do know that there is a ride of about 5-6ish miles between the visitor center and Whites :!: It is however a nice leg warmer before "THE CLIMB" ;)
Don't be put off tho peeps, it is the best climb I've ever done :D

Its a couple of miles, but all on very gradual double track. Good sociable start to the ride. As most of riding is great singletrack, this was planned to allow socialising while riding and a little warm up :) Just take it easy.

Regarding the climb, its actually pretty enjoyable and doesn't feel as bad as the Wall fireroad start which is superdull.

I did this in freezing hail and strong winds and it wasn't too bad... :D
