rear shock advice, please

I am looking for advice on rear shocks. I have a manitou 3 way spv air rear shock on my specialized fsr ground control and can't get it set up right. I'm not 100% what the max psi but have 240 psi in there. I do find it quite soft and the spv is set at 75psi. Would a coil shock be better for a heavier rider and handle better on smaller/medium bumps.

Coil would probably suit a heavier giy better but rest assured i have had lots of hassle setting mine up too!

I think i went almost even in the end and ran the spv at around 75% of the can.

Thanks, I tried the spv at 50psi to soft, 75psi feels to harsh. So I didn't know. it took a while to find a 165 shock. So going to take a while finding coil in a 165 - fox vanilla, 5th element, romic - if I find something along those lines
