1990 dolomite attitude.

basically i got a good deal on the frame and the seat post, front & rear mech, brakes/shifters. so it just follows with the build.
i know its not strictly in keeping with the original build,
but at the end of day i will have the bike i've always wanted.
who knows in a few years i will probably have it all back to original.
but for now, it is what it is.
but thanks for the feedback.

And the important thing is that you like it. Who knows, if you would have bought it new back in 90/91 you might have upgraded all of the components to M900 anyway. :)

What size is it Jeff, it's one of my favourite bikes too, glad you found your other Unicorn :)

sshhhh dont tell anyone but I have a 2011 Thomson seatpost on my 1990 Dolomite

I have in my head all the bits i loved from "BITD", which is bullseye hubs/cranks, gripshift, mavic 231's etc etc.... I have no idea what year these parts were out.

When I was 14 i had a Klein Rascal, and modded that for a few years so when I did part company with it, it had 1990 / 1991 / 1992 / 1993 kit on it. I dont want my Klein to have the Factory spec on it, i prefer to build all the great bits that I had from when I were a lad :D
Its what makes us all perfect as we are all different! (and Yes if I wanna paint my Klein Bright colours I will!!!! hahah)

from bottom bracket to top tube it measures 17" it may be size medium.
i did want a bigger one, but i think this will be fine with the seatpost.
trying to work out which bike i will aspire to next.
i fancy some retro titanium. but for now i'll have to be content with what i have. hopefully i will have this running next week.
the canti's turned up today. :D

I'm very envious, that is also my 'holy grail' bike :D

Look forward to seeing the finished build

lifes being good to me.
a pace rc100 last year.
a klein attitude this year.
i dread to think what it'll be next year.

the tyres turned up today. so i've mounted the wheels on the bike.
i even found some use ti spin stix in the shed.
all thats left is the canti brake hangers & the cranks.
the chainrings also turned up today.
the wheels are hope ti glide rear hub, pace carbon front hub. laced onto
mavic 819 rims.

Nice

Looks good to me.
Sit on the fence re builds
I have two kleins, one with almost perfect nos xt m732/m734/m735 build.

And the other is like you, components nostaglstic to you like xtr m900, cook bros etc.

Your ride, your bike- glad you're gonna ride it!

i am getting to the end of this build, just need to source a correct size bottom bracket spindle.
anyway i ordered the canti hangers a few weeks ago. and since then i have located the proper shimano canti hangers.
my dilemma now is which should i use.
i really like the cnc type hangers, they look cool, but i also like the shimano ones.
which do people think is best.
