Why are pace forks the wrong way round?

It was a question about both canti/v brake posted forks and disc forks, as I have a set of RC40s with disc and a set of RC36 with Magura HS33s on. Its interesting the comments and thinking about it you can see the advantages, especially with canti/v brakes, certainly makes the forks more noticable, looked like space age stuff on the trails when you first saw Paces earlier stuff, back in the day! I always want a set of the RC36 proclass forks with the gold stantions, now I have a nice set of the irvine red ones, they still look classy and expensive, even now! :D Im still yet to ride them, but really cant wait!

On reverse arch forks with V brakes as you apply them the action of the rotating direction of the wheel pulls the brakes closer toward the fork therefore actually increasing the braking force that can be applied. Mounts on the front of the fork are pulled away from the fork and therefore their effective braking force is lessened.
