That Nigel Dean looks like its been in a timewarp..

Great thread. I hope to add my frame to the discussion when I get it refinished.

Interestingly, I think American brands of steel frames had an inherent rarity factor in the UK, coupled with clever marketing kudos (ie journalists) they commanded a higher price tag. No doubt UK builders ran with the geometry & sizing, but it was indutry standard accross all the Big brands mass-producing in Taiwan anyhow.

Love the Dave LLoyd with the dropped top tube- there is another nice one on the site too. I think the Hardisty bikes was made by Kevin Winter?

Mate you my friend are a legend.

By saying Mr Winters, you made it possible for me to find the bike.

Can you believe it was here all along.............and the MAD part about this is, it was actually offered here on this very site for sale.

Now i Dont really care whether this frame was made as JMCs team bike or another HARDISTY team member, this is an original race frame, built for the team using Columbus Genius Tubing. HANDBUILT. RACE BRED. And all here in good old Great Britain.

I am totally shocked that no one bought it.

This is a very rare frame indeed..., in fact to me, this whole topic/find is the reason im on this site.....,

Shit i feel like a school kid again

Great buy Wadsy - glad someone on here got it - looking forward to pics of the finished bike! :D The paint is fantastic but impossible to replicate well I would imagine.

I'll take some colour pics of the frame and get them posted up - sometime ;) I was going to wait 'till I had all the parts I wanted, but was encouraged to 'go public' after seeing this thread

The paint is in great condition and won't need any work doing to it :D

Christ men, you are all going to be responsible for me having a heartattack in a minute............classic Saracens, a Nigel Dean, a load of info on Hardisty race frames, talk of seeing a genuine and rare Smart Tart, and Now Wadsy is going to grace us with Colour pics of a Genuine Unpainted Original by Dave Lloyd.

i need to SIT DOWN .

Was this his ride between Salsa and Specialised then?

Salsa was Team MBUK, can't remember if it went MBUK/Hardisty's/Spec or if Hardisty's was first. On which topic, that Winter Hardisty's is ace :)

(I'd like to also register strong approval for wadsy's tool wardrobe ;) )

Hardisty was first, then MBUK/Salsa, then specialized....
