+1 for what bob says!

i am wondering though if it would be possible to change the rear shock to the rockshox one on the other models?

I wondered the same dave ?? Can anyone confirm if the rock shox found on the later models fits ??

Bob the more i clean it the more i want to keep it lol

you wont be able to change the rear elastomer to the rockshox found on the other models unfortunatley..

the elastomer rear end uses different linkages and mounts differently to the frame too so you wouldnt be able to swap rear ends without some welding!

the LTS-3 frame is essentially a completley different frame to the 1 and 2.

get the forks sorted and get it ridden :) I've always loved the look of the elastomer LTS's for some reason!

this is my 96 lts 3

i still think yours is a 5

in 1996 GT produced 3 LTS's

1 - coil shock
2 - coil shock
3 - elastomer

in 1997 GT produced 5 LTS's

1 - Coil (and the spin version)
2 - Coil
3 - Coil
4 - Elastomer
5 - Elastomer

if yours is an LTS-3 Mikee i'd say its a 1997 model not 1996..

it may have a 1996 serial number but don't forget that the early batches of 1997 model year bikes where probably made and sold towards the end of 1996.

it seems to be getting earlier and earlier that companies release 'next years product' now to try and get a jump on the opposition..! ;)
