easton or raceface or hope or thompson
wheels:-
mavic rims, hope hubs, shimano hubs (and royce if i can afford it for the Demon build)
brakes:-
generally hope discs, shimano for v's or canti's.
saddles are usually wtb or sdg
forks:-
rock shox or marzocchi
headset:-
king/hope or canecreek for budget stuff
shifters/mechs:-
always shimano.

raceface/shimano
i stick to these brands because of quality, spares availability and proven track record, i know there are more expensive/cooler parts out there but these are tried and tested and they work. nuff said
